Treehut owners are a special breed – passionate and with an eye for the unique. In June, our Superm\u00e5ne was booked by a Kiwi couple who knew something about unique places – they were the proud owners of ‘AWAY Waiheke<\/a>‘, a stunning treehouse<\/a> at the eastern end of Waiheke Island. The octagonal treehouse has abundant space, a magnificent high untreated timber ceiling, and its wraparound deck – perfect for appreciating the native New Zealand bush. With a forest bath and spa treatments by Sanna<\/a>, the spa therapist and proprietor of the property, every corner of AWAY
Waiheke is a marvel. We were curious to see how this couple would find their stay at Superm\u00e5ne<\/a> – much less luxurious in comparison. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were pleasantly surprised by the kind of people we encountered in our guests. From the get-go, our conversations were inspiring and engaging as we exchanged our respective lifestyles and outlooks on sustainability. We discovered that no matter how different we were, our ideas about the atmosphere, unique experiences and hospitality were surprisingly similar. We spent an excellent evening bonding and laughing over our stories. It was a memorable evening demonstrating how people can make even the most unremarkable places come alive with their presence. What a reassuring reminder that our commitment to making our guests feel special wasn’t in vain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
