If you are planning to visit us in 2026, try to aim for the second week of August. We are looking at a rare “double bill” in the sky that summer, and the forest here in Furudal <\/a>is exactly where you want to be when it happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 12th<\/strong>, we get a significant solar eclipse in the evening. Because the sun will be low over the trees, the light in the forest will turn into that strange, silvery glow that you only see once in a lifetime. And as soon as the sun sets, the Perseid meteor shower<\/strong> takes over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2026 is a special year because it\u2019s a New Moon<\/strong> during the peak. This means the sky will be pitch black\u2014the perfect canvas for our signature Stars above the Forest<\/a><\/em> experience. Of course, this all depends on the Swedish summer weather playing along\u2014but even with a few clouds, the change in light is something you\u2019ll feel.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While you can see the stars from your cabin, the eclipse requires a bit more height. We\u2019ve scouted a “secret” spot nearby\u2014an elevated clearing with a wide view of the horizon that we only share with our guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make the evening complete, we\u2019re preparing Stargazer Baskets<\/strong> for that week. We\u2019ll pack them with local treats, something cold to drink, and essential solar eclipse glasses so you can watch the moon\u2019s progress safely.
