Despite the wonderful spring sun, the ice was thick enough for a real “ispimpla”- ice fishing. You drill a hole in the ice, fasten a maggot onto your mini fishing rod and drop the wire into the hole. We tried for 5 minutes but did not catch a single fish. We moved to another hole to try again, but another five minutes later, no catch. Alas, we know we are too impatient for ice fishing, but at least we tried. After that we ate ‘kolbullar’ a kind of pancake with bacon that you eat with lingon jam. Delicious! We will make more of that, over the campfire or in that lovely little hut by the lake.
