Mix and match your own winterfun, that is what we promote. It’s because we really believe that mixing makes everyone in your family (or friends) happy and satisfied. Today we started our winter fun season mix and match with: ice-skating on Rädsjön at Orsa Grönklitt.
And it was the best thing to choose! We got into the car at 11:00 in the morning and arrived at 12:00 at the parking place near the entrance of the cross country part. Rädsjön lies behind this part. It was busy with people there, but on the lake was hardly anyone to be found while this was the first time this year!
The weather conditions were perfect: sunny and around -4°C, the ice was glittering , there were long shadows over the lake and we were surprised by a rainbow caused by ice crystals. The fun part of this lake is that you can skate between little islands, which makes the lake very adventurous for children. Moreover, there is a small island with a real treehouse, little tower, and wooden bridge too, where the kids can play when they have enough of skating. That’s exactly what our boys and their friends did while we had a long chat while the sun already was going down a little.
Afterward, we went for a late lunch at ‘Ugglan och Björnen’, a nice restaurant close to the parking place. Until 15:00 pm they serve a nice and very affordable buffet with several different dishes, a salad buffet and drink and coffee after dinner. The kids were very satisfied with the children’s favorites such as pancakes and burgers. Well, these pancakes were a delicious dessert for us adults of course. After coffee, we drove back home. It was getting colder again, -10°C. Tonight we will be watching a movie and enjoy the warmth of our fireplace. Hygge happy!
