All over suddenly, it feels like the summer season is over. Kids have to go to school, Swedes have to work again. The Tourist office in Furudal is closed for the season now. But is the season really over? Or is it over for just the Swedes? Next couple of weeks we still have guests, no Swedes but foreign guests. At the very moment we write this, we have some guests from Belgium and Israel. These guests are also in need of information: where are the best spots to fish? Can we rent a canoe? Is there a restaurant nearby? Of course, we can help, but we are no locals too… Our guests need some inside information, normally you can find that kind of information at the local Tourist office!
So please Oregruppen, next summer find a solution to keep open the Tourist office until the end of September. Tourists love to have some “secret, inside information” given by a friendly local specialist. You can call it good Hostmanship. Satisfying guests is good for the shops, our village and us. It keeps our village lively.
Luckily enough our guests still have their experience on the country site. They go for a walk in the forest, pick one of the trails from our own little hike book: “8 trails to walk around Ore/Furudal”, they enjoy the silence, have a campfire and roast some marshmallows. Occasionally you can smell a fluff of smoke from one of the wood stoves, lit by one of our guests. Kids still enjoy jumping on the trampoline and jumping into the warmed pool, building a cabin in the forest and last but not least having a spin on the go-kart. This year’s number one on the bucket list for children: having fun with the go-kart. It’s amazing children like that so much. They want to play all day long with it… even kids who are 15 years old.
So if you do have some days left, you don’t need tourist information and you want to please your kids: Come over and do what a lot of our guest did: “have an experience on the country site @Näsets Marcusgård.”
