Did you notice it? Our village Furudal is full of activity. Last week we’ve had a special “wakey-wakey” weekend: most of the shops were open, Furudals tourist office was open and even the Bra-bus showed up. Today we’ve read a post on Facebook telling that the Furudals famous Ice hockey school is doing the last preparations for the arrival of the boys and girls enjoying their Ice hockey summer camp. There is a wave of new energy throughout our village. Nice to see and feel, everyone is outside again and it feels alive again.
For us it means the beginning of the summer season: doing the garden, cleaning our holiday apartments and hanging up the tree-tent in our woods. In short: getting ready for our guests and their stories.
For our two Belgian guests sleeping in the tree-tent was the beginning of their adventurous holiday. They already spend their night in a strange spot: they slept in a creepy old prison in Stockholm (that has been converted into hotel rooms). Thereafter they hopped on the train to Dalarna and spend the night in the woods in our tree-tent with all the scaring sounds that belong to sleeping in the woods. This afternoon they followed the path in our forest, cross the stream and will spend the next 6 days and nights on the Siljanstrail, on their way to Mora. The Siljanstrail starts right behind our house. The entire trail is 340 km and follows ancient peasant paths, passing by old farms and beautiful natural scenery. Lucky us: they are going to film during their hike, so they can show us how special the Siljanstrail is. At our place they already got to see a moose and a hedgehog, so who knows which animal they will spot. Thereafter? A full week in Fallufjällets national park, in North Dalarna. Sounded adventurous to us.
Our other guests are here to celebrate an anniversary with the whole family. They are the first guests who grilled on their veranda. Together with a great temperature, quivering birds, the many hours of light, all the different colors of green, and flowers popping up: everything is ready for the summer.
