We are in the middle of an incredibly warm, un-Swedish summer. As long as you don’t have to work, perfect for long days at one of the beaches along the lakes or in a hammock in the shade. But what if you get a little bored of just laying down and want to do something else but avoid hot and busy towns? Get in your airconditioned car and follow these recommendations. A nice afternoon guaranteed.
First, you drive to the village Dalfors, about 15 minutes from Furudal. There your trip begins next to the petrol station. Don’t think: it’s just a gas station, but just go in. In this little “Lanthandel” shop you can order coffee equal to the barista coffee bars in the big city. The Cafe Mocca (equal parts of espresso, warm chocolate and milk) is e great choice but you can choose from several kinds such as Espresso, Espresso Americano, Macchiato or Dopio, Vanilla Latte, Cafe Latte, Cappuccino and more. If you don’t like coffee you can choose from Chai Latte or Chokladmilk. This place is a real secret gem. After having your coffee you can have a look around and choose from jewellery made of glass, or woollen socks and sweaters and much more. You can also buy ice cream.
You continue and drive back in the direction of Furudal and go to the left to Östanvik. There your Swedish loppis (little second-hand shop) tour starts. Before you know you get addicted and can’t stop looking for more. The first one is often Ore Handel (Landsvägen 52). The rest will be a surprise, just follow the signs with loppis. It’s always unsure where loppis-shops pop up (and if they are open), but you’ll always find several during the summer. It’s not likely you will return with empty hands, so don’t forget your wallet.
