From 5-12 September 2021, we are excited to welcome four European artists of The Jaunt’s annual Summer Camp here at Näsets Marcusgård. For the artists who join, it offers a short and pleasurable retreat and find new inspiration in our beautiful surroundings. The meaning of the summer camp is to give the artists the chance to connect with each other, with nature, and share their creative processes along the way. For us, the perfect opportunity to see our place through different eyes and in new ways.
What is the Jaunt? The Jaunt is an art project that sends artists on trips to find inspiration and create unique artworks inspired by their experiences. You never know the outcome, which makes the artists’ journey even more exciting to follow. While you know which artist is going to which location, their limited-edition screenprints are sold before the artwork has been created. This allows contributing to making the inspiration possible while experiencing the creative process from up close. The founder of The Jaunt is Jeroen Smeets, who immediately inspired us with his ideas, network and many art projects that stand out and give artists opportunities.
With The Jaunt, we can bring international modern art to the middle of the forest, an idea we already dreamed of since we moved here. Fresh eyes open our eyes to the world surrounding us, and see how we can develop. Also, little villages in the countryside deserve a chance to look at different perspectives to make life more exciting and livable. In May, we started our collaboration by welcoming the Swedish artist Linea Andersson. We are very curious about the outcome and already reserved a nice place on the wall in the Fähus for her screen print.
The Summer Camp is our next collaboration. Four European based artists for one week at Näsets Marcusgård to allow them to get inspired by their new surroundings. Not only to make a silkscreen print, but also to create work on the spot and having an event at the end of the week, 11 september from 14.00-18.00.

Who are the four artists who will join? From Spain, Seleka is invited. Originally from Nigeria but now living in Amsterdam, Tyna Adebowale is joining. From France: Olivier Kenneybrew, who some might know better under the name POLAR. And last but not least, out of Sweden itself: Marie Dahlstrand.
