What brings camping in our treetent to an Brazilian girl?

Treetent Nadia

We brought our first Work Away to the train to her next destination. Mixed feelings: sad that she’s leaving but happy that this Brazilian girl goes on to her next adventure. Before coming here she wanted to hike and make pictures (since she is photographer), and of course helping us. Just what we needed, we wanted her to make pictures of Näsets Marcusgård and ourselves. We also had a secret mission: we wanted her to experience Sweden like Ronia the Robber’s Daughter (Astrid Lindgren) and let her try Swedish specialties like knäckebröd and desserts. We soon found out that she liked the last the best, Kladdkaka (chocolate cake) in particular.

And did she get the Ronia feeling? In other words, did she get a chance to see the lakes and the forest as a huge playground, to enjoy all the little fruits that grow here just for you to pick, was she overwhelmed by all the different colors , the wild rivers and did she feel free? Well, she has never read Ronia, and she compared her feeling to that of Hiawatha (Walt Disney), but we think she recognizes the feeling now. After several hikes and especially after camping in the wild: in our treetent next to a lake, make her own campfire and wake up in the morning to see the sunrise and the fog floating over the lake. The warm temperature was also something she had not expected of a northern country such as ours: a nice surprise for someone who comes from a tropical country as Brazil. To us she was a perfect help and I was so glad she liked the salad from our garden (since I almost drown in it!).

She made great pictures which you’ll regularly will see passing by. You can check her photos on her Instagram: @np.photograph. We know that she dreams of running a range with her own horses in the future. We hope her dreams come through. You probably get a Ronia feeling by galloping away on a horse too. Wouldn’t it be fun if one of our boys will be her Work Away by then?
