Who we are
We are Mireille and Willem — the hosts who run Näsets Marcusgård with heart, curiosity, and a profound love for nature. In 2014, we took a bold step: we moved our family from the Netherlands to Furudal in Dalarna, Sweden. We were inspired by the place's tranquillity, the deep presence of the forests, and the history of Marcus Eriksson, who founded this farm in 1910.
Just like Marcus did over a century ago, we wanted to create something vibrant here: a place where people connect, find peace, and truly feel the nature surrounding them.
How it all started
It began with two converted holiday homes in the old barn. They were comfortable, spacious, and designed to give guests time — time to talk, to rest, and to be together.
Over time, the business grew not through plans made at a desk but through encounters with guests, still mornings in the forest, star-filled nights, and countless conversations about what people truly long for: a break, presence, and nature that touches the soul.
It is in this spirit that our Signature Forest Experiences were born. They are not intended as traditional activities, but as simple, sensory moments where the forest itself becomes your guide.

We create premium nature experiences on a small scale, where every detail is chosen with care. Our hosting is personal, present, and warm — and many guests return precisely for the genuine connection, the conversations, and the feeling of being seen.
Today, you can stay on the farm in several ways. For example, our accommodations range from historic farmhouses (for those seeking pure relaxation) to custom-designed forest rooms (for those desiring a deeper connection with nature).
Our unique spaces, Supermåne and Oddis Öga, include our Signature Forest Experiences — simple, sensory nature moments that make your stay deeper and more memorable. In the traditional farmhouses Hölada and Fähus, you can add these experiences to enrich your time with us, or enjoy the peace, space, and beautiful surroundings at your own pace.

Näsets Marcusgård is still evolving — anchored in history, shaped by nature, and continually developed by our encounters with our guests.
The farm's history
Näsets Marcusgård was founded in 1910 by Marcus Eriksson, an entrepreneur with courage and drive. During his time, the farm became a local centre, involved in forestry, transport, and sawmilling. The farm owned up to 15 horses, seven trucks, and was bursting with life.
Today, the place still carries his energy — a place where new ground is broken, in new ways.
