Hölada is a cosy, charming, and intimate holiday home, perfect for solo travellers or couples seeking tranquillity in the Swedish nature. Although the house can accommodate up to 6 people, its intimate atmosphere is ideal for smaller parties.
This bright apartment is beautifully situated in the Siljan Geopark near Rättvik, Dalarna — only a 4-hour drive from Stockholm. It features three bedrooms: the master bedroom at the front with a 160 x 200 cm bed and two cosy bedrooms at the back (each with a bunk bed of 2 x 90 x 200 cm). It's a perfect, snug base for your Swedish adventure!
The holiday home is located in the barn's hayloft on our farm. High ceilings characterise the cottage, and the kitchen and master bedroom are in the former servants' quarters. The house has been adapted to modern times. The walls are decorated with art by a local artist, Malin Lidén. She says:
I am an abstract painter and sculptor. I also work with figurative motifs, as here for Näsets Marcusgård, the figures I paint and faces I sculpt have exclusively closed eyes. This is a reminder not to lose ourselves in the world but to go inwards to know and understand our innermost essence. I have named the figures hanging here "At the Monastery" to encourage us to periodically retreat into quiet contemplation and silence to hear the small voice within, the one that guides us to clarity and a deeper understanding of ourselves.
A bright kitchen at the front has all the necessary amenities (electric stove with four burners and an oven, refrigerator and freezer, microwave and sink). The spacious living/dining room has a TV and DVD player, access to the terrace (with a BBQ and outdoor dining table) via a side door, and access to the shower and toilet.
Linen package: Bed linen, towels, and tea towels are available for hire, and the final cleaning is compulsory. Internet access is included, as well as wood for the fireplace. A crib and a highchair are also available. Smoking and pets are not allowed in The Hölada.
There is a small supply of basic foodstuffs in the apartment, such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar, toilet paper, and dishwashing liquid. Feel free to use them, and replenish them when they are empty.
Bookings for accommodation only can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before arrival for any reason.

The experience provides access to our Signature Experiences of the Forest. It includes a private, fire-started sauna session per day—a tranquil, wood-fired sauna experience in the heart of nature.
During your stay, you will encounter simple, quiet invitations naturally woven into the forest landscape around the farm. These are small moments in nature, created for calmness, presence, and recovery, which you can explore at your own pace. Most experiences are self-guided and take between 10 and 45 minutes. Upon arrival, you will receive a simple map showing where these spots are located.
There is no fixed schedule and no expectations. Every moment changes with light, weather, and season—just like the forest in Sweden does. Everything here follows the rhythm of nature. You are welcome to do the same.
Price: 1.250 SEK per stay
Additional sauna times may sometimes be offered depending on availability and wood capacity. The sauna is at its most atmospheric during the colder months of the year.
