I think I’m going crazy! I can’t stop picking berries! I spend all day long at various places in the forest. It started with blueberries, then red and black currants from the bushes in the garden, then lingons, and then I discovered the raspberries in the forests! The only berries I haven’t found are blackberries. What do I do with all the berries? I baked cakes for guests, sorted bags of berries for sale, made cakes and pies for ourselves. When everyone was fed up with the pies and cakes, I froze them. And last week I made jam. It’s such fun to do here, come pick your own berries (I know the hotspots) and make your own jam! Blueberries come in July. And August and September? Well, these months are a picker’s Valhalla. If you come in September, I might also have a load of green tomatoes ready for you. They will no longer turn red after that time but they’re great for making different chutneys with. What a great activity!
