History

Today we hiked through the snow to a neighbour. She takes care of the photo albums showing many of the original inhabitants in Näset. It was lovely to browse through some of them. So many villagers emigrated to America! Our neighbour made a family tree from the birth of Marcus Eriksson, especially for us. He is the man who built the farm. From the picture he looks like a real dandy, a man with courage. We’ve already heard stories about this. She also found a copy of some sort of farm-inventory from the twenties. It says that the farmhouse was built in 1910, Marcus Eriksson was the owner and that he owned two horses, seven cows, and fifteen chickens at the time. We also found a photo with two men on a sled in front of the farm from the time when Marcus ran a transport company. In the evening I made a drawing of it (from the copies of the old black and white photos).
