Last year’s guest in ‘Skriva’

skriva eva ullerud

A nice surprise in the mailbox today: an article about Eva Ullerud in ’Skriva’, my favorite Swedish magazine about writing. Eva was one of our guests last year. Back then I was very proud to have a writer in the house, since I still have plans to resume writing and write a bestseller. But moreover for I would love to organize a writing workshop here at Näsets Marcusgård, together with an author.

Such a writing week or weekend can be given about all kinds of genres. How do you write your family history, an autobiography, a scary (Scandinavian) thriller or a romantic novel? Combined with homely activities like baking Knäckebröd, berry picking and sitting by the fire. And of course you’ll have enough space to write in peace and quiet or discuss your story with your teacher or the group along the dinner table.

Eva Ullerud  likes to write stories in multiple genres. She started out writing detective novels, children’s books, poetry, fantasy and historical stories and at the moment she’s  writing  a story about her father-in-law who fled from Norway to Sweden in 1943 (during the German occupation). Wouldn’t you be inspired by her? I would.

If you are a writer or writing coach you’re more than welcome to contact us. Or come and get inspiration at us with your writing club. A relaxing  place in the country does wonders! And of course I’ll send Eva an email.

  1. I remember you and Näsets Marcusgård very well. It was one of the nicest and friendliest places I have ever visited, freshly picked flowers and berries greeted us when we came.

The time I spent at Näsets Marcusgård was actually during one of the researchtrips that are mentionned in the article, there are many interesting places around Furudal.

I do agree, it would be a perfect place for workshop! There are several authors that arrange workshops, for the time being I am not one of them because every free hour is needed for writing, but I will definitely send this idea further to other authors that might be interrested.

Good luck with both writing and this splendid idea about the workshop, I hope you let me know how it goes!

    Eva
