Old inhabitant visited Näsets Marcusgård

Näsets Marcusgård 1930

While baking waffles today we were surprised by an unexpected visit from an old inhabitant of our farm (and his friend). We showed him around and our tour brought back many memories. How interesting to hear what has changed in our house. On the ground floor used to be more walls, which created small rooms. Now they have been removed and everything looks more spacious. In the old days these rooms were small to keep it warm during the freezing winter. He showed us where he kept his chickens and sheep and confirmed that the servant and her family in old times lived in the Höladas master-bedroom and kitchen.
The first inhabitants of Näsets Marcusgård had seven sons. They all brought friends and girlfriends home, so it was a hive of activity on the farm. It feels great to bring some of that activity back. He was happy to see that the farm retained it’s old charm, although the house used to be yellow, the color of a mansion. Maybe we will change it in the future, we’ll see. He was glad the farm is in good hands. And he has some old pictures of Näsets Marcusgård at home! Of course we love to see them when he pays us a next visit. The coffee and waffles were cold when they left, but their visit was of great value to us all.
